Chapter 58 - The Infiltration of Emerald Bay

The water of Lake Tahoe was as black as obsidian beneath the howling squall.
Our stealth interceptor craft cut through the three-foot chop with near-silent electric drives, their low radar-cross-section hulls skimming the freezing surface. Through the night-vision optics, *The Sovereign Horizon* loomed out of the mist—a sleek, multi-decked vessel bristling with commercial radar domes and high-gain satellite dishes.
"Thermal scan shows eight armed security personnel on the weather decks," the tactical lead whispered through our encrypted comms. "All private military contractors. Heavy weapons visible."
"Take the stern and engine compartments silently," I ordered. "Victor will be in the central stateroom or the bridge, supervising the data purge."
We hit the yacht’s waterline at the swim platform.
The first sentry never knew what hit him; our lead diver breached the surface, took him down with a suppressed burst, and dragged him into the darkness of the tender bay before the body could strike the teak deck.
I moved fast, adrenaline entirely overriding the dull fire in my shoulder. We breached the companionway leading up to the main salon. The lavish interior—rich walnut paneling, plush leather sofas, and crystal decanters—was littered with shredded hard drives, severed fiber-optic cables, and industrial thermite canisters.
A contractor stepped out of a corridor, his submachine gun raised. I pivoted around the doorframe, bringing up my weapon and firing two center-mass shots that dropped him instantly.
From the deck above, an alarm began to wail.

"Boarders on the bridge deck!" someone screamed over the yacht’s internal PA.
"Push through!" I shouted to the team. "Secure the bridge!"
