Chapter 51 - THE FATHER RETURNSThe woman wearing Claire’s face shot Daniel in the shoulder. He fell, shielding the baby as Noah charged at her. She punched Noah, kicked him down, and pointed her gun at Daniel.
“Give me the child!”
“Who are you?” Daniel demanded.
“I’m Claire’s sister. Your real mother is still alive beneath this house.”
A black car pulled into the driveway. An elderly man stepped out, holding a silver cane.
Daniel recognized him from Lily’s pendant.
Thomas Hale.
His supposedly dead father.
“Bring me Subject Six,” Thomas ordered.
Daniel refused. Two guards attacked him, punching him and kicking him to the ground. Noah fought back, smashing a vase over one attacker’s head before dragging Daniel into the estate.
Beneath the pantry, they discovered a secret laboratory filled with photographs of children labeled as experimental subjects.
A video revealed Thomas ordering a newborn’s identity erased while Richard arranged for an innocent body to be buried.
Then Daniel saw the woman on the hospital bed.
She had his face.
A gunshot suddenly rang out.
Lily collapsed in Richard’s arms.
“You killed her!” Daniel screamed, attacking Richard and smashing him against a glass cabinet.
Before Daniel could finish the fight, every monitor displayed a chilling message:
SUBJECT SIX TRANSFER COMPLETE.
The baby had vanished.
