Chapter 5 - The Forbidden Truth

Harrison couldn't bear just looking at her anymore. Overwhelmed by an instinct he hadn't felt in twelve agonizing months, he leaned forward.
With a trembling, desperate effort, he reached his arms out and lifted the little girl onto his lap, pulling her securely against his chest. She didn't pull away; she wrapped her tiny arms around his neck, resting her head against his shoulder.
In the background, the maid looked shocked, covering her mouth with her hand in sheer disbelief. The staff knew Julian's strict rules: no unauthorized children in the ballroom, especially near Harrison.
The little girl snuggled closer, her soft blonde hair brushing against his chin.
"Okay," the little girl said gently and innocently, her voice muffled against his silver tie. "लेकिन... But I don't want to be your daughter for only one day."
Harrison froze. The word echoed in his mind.
Before he could process her words, the heavy mahogany doors of the ballroom swung open with a loud bang, and Julian marched over, his face red with fury.

👉 Julian tried to rip the child away, but the little girl’s next sentence was about to expose the ultimate, bone-chilling conspiracy.
