Chapter 45 - the bait is cast
Emily knew that exposing a phantom required incredibly dangerous bait. She used the foundation's remaining secure channels to leak a highly classified, fabricated document to the dark web, claiming Noah had a physical ledger hidden off-site.
The bait suggested that this ledger contained the unencrypted identities of 'The Architects' and their entire global clientele. It was a bluff, but it was a bluff so massive that Elias couldn't possibly ignore the apocalyptic risk.
Elias bit the hook. He dispatched a highly trained, elite extraction team to the fake drop-site: an abandoned, heavily fortified pharmaceutical warehouse on the industrial outskirts of Boston.
Elias believed he was tying up the final loose end to permanently destroy the Carter family. He had no idea that while Emily was fighting the digital war, she had unleashed her husband to handle the physical one.
