Chapter 28 - the midnight raid

The abandoned East harbor shipyard was cloaked in a thick, freezing midnight fog. Victor Thorne sat confidently in his makeshift office inside warehouse seven, waiting for the call confirming that Marisol Blackwell had been successfully captured.

Instead, the heavy steel doors of the warehouse violently exploded inward.

Caleb's heavily armed tactical strike team swarmed the building like a localized hurricane. They moved with absolute, devastating precision, effortlessly overwhelming Victor's remaining guards in a flawless, terrifying display of overwhelming force.

Victor scrambled backward, his arrogant confidence instantly evaporating as he realized his empire was being systematically annihilated. He drew his weapon, but a precise shot from the shadows shattered his wrist, sending the gun clattering across the concrete.

Caleb stepped out of the fog, his dark eyes locked onto the pathetic, bleeding syndicate boss.

"You brought violence to my family," Caleb stated coldly, towering over the fallen man. "That was your final mistake."

Victor begged for his life, but Caleb simply turned his back. The ruthless boss had promised Marisol he would leave the criminal underworld behind, so he left Victor for the federal authorities, backed by undeniable evidence of his crimes. The threat was neutralized forever.
