Chapter 15 - a fragile hope

Three months passed in absolute peace. The Vance Corporation, under Harrison's firm leadership, rose to the pinnacle of power once again, stronger and more transparent than ever before. Chloe also gradually recovered psychologically.

But deep down, Harrison always longed to stand on his own two feet once more and lift his daughter high into the air. The disability from the accident remained a dull, aching wound in his soul.

One morning, the chief doctor from Chicago's top international hospital brought shocking news. "Mr. Vance, we have just successfully tested the newest stem cell therapy."

The doctor pulled up the X-ray of Harrison's spine. "Your injury is not permanent. If we proceed with surgery combined with intensive physical therapy, the recovery rate could be up to seventy percent."

Harrison's heart pounded rapidly. He looked down at his motionless legs, then over at little Chloe playing out in the flower garden. A fragile yet brilliant ray of hope flashed, dispelling the dark night.
