Chapter 18 - The Boy in the MirrorThe black lake began rippling.

Noah walked toward it.
Instead of his reflection, he saw another boy.
The same face.
The same eyes.
But this boy wore a crown and dark royal armor.
"Who are you?" Noah whispered.
The reflection smiled.
"The one who stayed."
Noah stepped backward.
The figure explained that during the original escape, time had divided the young prince's future.
One version had been sent to the modern world.
Another had remained behind.
That second life had grown in a world without mercy.
And now it existed somewhere beyond the sealed palace.
Thomas pulled Noah away from the water.
"Don't listen to him."
But the figure continued speaking.
"You think the king stole your throne?"
The lake darkened.
"Ask your grandfather who really opened the prison."

Thomas turned pale.
For the first time, Noah saw true guilt in his eyes.
