"I promised he would be removed from history."
The mirror darkened.
"His survival means someone changed the bargain."
Aldric looked toward the door.
"What must I do?"
The voice replied:
"Find the silver coin. Break it before midnight. Otherwise he will remember what you did."
Aldric closed his eyes.
"And if he remembers?"
The mirror showed him a vision of the throne room.
