Chapter 7 - The Unbreakable Bond

With the traitors sobbing on the marble floor, Roman and Clara turned their backs on them.

Roman kept his heavy black tuxedo jacket wrapped securely around Clara's shoulders, guiding her through the parted crowd of silent, awestruck billionaires and socialites. Not a single person dared to utter a word as the city's most powerful couple exited the grand ballroom.

In the weeks that followed, the consequences were absolute.

Whitmore Development collapsed under the revoked land lease, forcing Nolan's family into total bankruptcy. Sloane's parents cut her off financially to save face, leaving the once-arrogant socialite completely isolated and broke.

Clara continued her philanthropic work with the Bennett Foundation, funding new community centers and empowering working-class entrepreneurs across Chicago. Her shredded silver gown was replaced by an even more magnificent legacy of grace and strength.

Roman kept his promise. He used his immense power not for mindless destruction, but to fiercely protect the woman who had brought light into his dark world.

One evening, standing on the balcony of their high-rise penthouse, Roman wrapped his arms around Clara from behind, kissing the side of her head as they looked out over the glittering city skyline.

She leaned back against his chest, her hands resting over his, feeling completely safe, infinitely loved, and absolutely untouchable.
