Chapter 15 - The Doctor’s ConfessionLuciano tracked down Dr. Samuel Reed, the physician who had treated Isabella during her final months.

At first, Reed refused to discuss her medical history.

“I cannot disclose confidential information without proper authorization,” he said.

Luciano placed Isabella’s photograph on the desk.

“Someone is threatening my daughter. If you know something relevant, tell the investigators.”

Reed finally admitted that Isabella had been under extreme stress before her death. She had also requested additional medical testing after experiencing unexplained symptoms.

“Did Adrian have anything to do with it?” Luciano demanded.

“I never saw him harm her,” Reed replied. “But he called my office repeatedly, asking about her condition.”

Reed then revealed that Isabella had requested a copy of her medical records shortly before she died.

Those records had vanished from the clinic’s archive.

When investigators searched Reed’s former office, they discovered evidence that someone had accessed Isabella’s file using stolen credentials.

Reed identified the date.

Marcus had visited the clinic that same week.

Luciano confronted Marcus during a formal interview.

“You stole my wife’s medical records.”

Marcus denied it, then suddenly lunged across the table when Luciano mentioned Adrian.

Security restrained him.

“You’re chasing the wrong man!” Marcus shouted. “Isabella wasn’t afraid of Adrian. She was afraid of someone much closer.”

The room fell silent.

Investigators demanded that Marcus identify the person.

Instead, he requested a lawyer and refused to answer another question.

That evening, Luciano received a message from an unknown number.

“Your wife trusted you with her final secret. You failed her once. Don’t fail Ellie.”
