Chapter 12 - The Betrayal Inside the MansionLuciano gathered every employee in the mansion.

“Someone here helped an intruder enter my home,” he announced. “Until we identify that person, nobody leaves without questioning.”
The head of the estate office, Marcus Hale, stepped forward.
“Sir, perhaps the security system malfunctioned.”
Luciano narrowed his eyes. “You’re responsible for those access codes. Explain why yours was used.”
Marcus became defensive, accusing Luciano of blaming innocent people because he could no longer control his grief.
Their argument escalated until Marcus shoved Luciano’s shoulder.
Luciano grabbed his collar.
“Touch me again, and you’ll regret it.”
Richard intervened before the confrontation became a fight.
Investigators searched Marcus’s office and discovered deleted emails exchanged with a company linked to Adrian. They also found payments that had never appeared in the estate’s official accounts.
Marcus insisted the messages had been planted.
Then Ellie entered, holding a drawing she had made at school.
“Daddy, this man came to see Mommy before she died.”
She pointed to a sketch of Adrian.
Beside him, she had drawn Marcus.
Luciano felt his stomach tighten.
Marcus immediately tried to take the paper, but Luciano pulled it away.
“Get him out of my house.”
As security escorted Marcus away, his phone rang.
The screen displayed one name: Adrian Cross.
Marcus looked directly at Luciano.
