Chapter 5 - THE SCARS THAT SPEAKEvery eye in the executive office locked onto Leo.

Slowly, deliberately, the thirteen-year-old boy pulled the fabric of his sleeves all the way up to his shoulders. The room fell into an absolute, suffocating silence.
The skin on Leo’s arms and upper back wasn't just marked by today’s single strike from Clara’s ruler. It was an intricate, horrific map of abuse—faded purple welts, crisscrossing scars from previous beatings, old cigarette burns hidden near his collarbone, and deep, yellowing bruises that told the story of months of systematic, targeted cruelty behind closed classroom doors.
Clara Vance’s face turned the color of curdled milk. Her jaw dropped open, and for the first time, her polished facade completely fractured.
"My God..." Principal Sterling gasped, stumbling backward out of his leather chair. He knocked over his coffee mug, letting it shatter against the Persian rug, completely ignoring the mess.
Officer Marcus lunged forward, snapping rapid-fire photos of Leo’s arms with his department-issued smartphone. "Look at this! This isn't one bad day! This is a history of systematic torture by a certified teacher!"
Sofia rushed to Leo’s side, gently wrapping her jacket around his trembling shoulders, her eyes blazing with righteous fury as she glared directly at Clara. "And you thought nobody would ever see it because you pulled a plug. You're a monster."
Clara backed away toward the office door, her manicured nails digging into her palms. "He... he fell! He's clumsy! He hurts himself at home to frame me! It's a conspiracy!" she shrieked, her voice cracking into a hysterical pitch.

"Shut up, Clara," Sterling growled, his face twisted in disgust. He grabbed his desk phone and punched a direct three-digit code. "Get me the local precinct. I want an immediate police detail dispatched to the administrative wing. We have an active child abuse investigation."
Clara realized the game was completely over. In a blind panic, she spun around, wrenched the office door open, and sprinted down the hallway toward the stairwell, desperate to flee before the sirens arrived.
