Chapter 12 - A NEW DAWN AT ST. JUDE HIGHSpring arrived at St. Jude High, painting the campus courtyard in vibrant shades of green and blooming cherry blossoms.

The toxic cloud of fear and intimidation that had once choked the hallways had been completely replaced by an atmosphere of openness, empathy, and mutual respect. Student-led advocacy groups were formed to monitor ethical standards and support students facing home hardships.
In Room 304—now freshly painted a warm, inviting pastel blue—a brand-new teacher named Mr. Gable stood by the whiteboard, smiling warmly at his students.
In the middle row, sitting side by side, were Sofia and Leo.
Leo’s grades had soared into the top tier of his class. He no longer walked through the halls with his head down; instead, teachers and classmates alike greeted him with warm smiles and genuine camaraderie. His father, Mr. Ramirez, was now undergoing successful physical therapy in a fully accessible ground-floor home, frequently visiting the school bake sales where Leo proudly helped out on weekends.
Sofia had become an inspirational figure across national youth leadership networks, regularly speaking at high schools about the importance of moral courage, bystander intervention, and the power of speaking truth to power.
"Hey, Sofia," Leo whispered, sliding a small handwritten note across their shared desk before class began.
Sofia unfolded it curiously. Inside was a neatly drawn sketch of a small red camera light shining brightly, accompanied by the words:
"Thanks for making sure someone was watching."

Sofia looked over at Leo, her heart full, and smiled brightly as she wrote her reply right back:
"Always, Leo. Always."
