Chapter 7 - The Phone Call After the SplashDetectives obtained the red phone through a warrant.

Vivian had called her brother immediately after Adrian entered the water. The recorded connection contained only her statement, “It’s done,” followed by his reply telling her to leave the marina.

Their messages revealed the broader plan.

Vivian’s brother had prepared revised trust documents using scanned copies of Adrian’s signature. If Adrian died, the papers would be submitted as agreements completed earlier that evening.

A private physician had also drafted a statement claiming Adrian experienced periods of confusion after pain medication. The doctor had never evaluated his decision-making capacity.

Vivian intended to argue that any challenge Adrian made before his death resulted from medication and emotional instability.

The wheelchair upload contradicted that narrative.

Adrian spoke clearly, identified the theft, refused to sign, and reacted to a deliberate brake release and push.

The evidence did not depend on Vivian confessing.

Her plan had created records at every stage because she needed institutions to treat the theft as lawful after Adrian could no longer object.
