Chapter 7 - The Monster Next Door
Arthur stared at the notebook, the horrifying words burning into his mind.
The situation was much worse than he had ever imagined.
He could not just go to the local police with a cryptic note.
He needed to understand the dynamics of the household.
That weekend, Arthur made a risky decision.
He drove his personal truck to Maya's neighborhood.
He parked a block away, watching the house from a distance.
He saw Maya's mother come out to check the mail.
She looked tired, distracted, and completely oblivious to her surroundings.
Suddenly, the boyfriend stormed out of the front door.
He grabbed the mother by the arm, yelling something Arthur could not hear.
The mother shrank back, looking absolutely terrified.
He dragged her back inside, slamming the heavy wooden door shut.
Arthur felt a surge of pure rage.
This man was a monster, controlling both the mother and the daughter.
