Chapter 15 - The Equation of Forever

The sun dipped slowly beneath the Manhattan skyline, casting a brilliant tapestry of gold, amber, and violet across the evening sky.
Inside the penthouse, the soft, melodious notes of a piano drifted through the open archway as Penny practiced her beginner chords, her tiny fingers pressing down on the ivory keys with growing confidence.

"Mommy, can we make pancakes for dinner tonight?" she asked, looking up with wide, hopeful eyes.
I smiled—a warm, radiant smile that reached all the way to my soul—and scooped her up into my arms, pressing a soft kiss to the top of her tangled brown hair.
