Chapter 7 - THE WESTBRIDGE FILES

The name appeared repeatedly.

Westbridge Family Services.

Officially, it helped wealthy families handle difficult guardianship cases, private adoptions, and mental-health placements.

Unofficially?

It hid problems.

Natalie had been sent through Westbridge.

Sophie’s surrogate paperwork passed through Westbridge.

Voss referred patients there.

Whitmore’s firm paid them.

Investigators seized records.

Forty-three cases required review.

Some were legitimate.

Others were terrifying.

Children relocated after inheritance disputes.

Teenagers placed in private facilities after accusing guardians of financial misconduct.

Parents declared unstable by the same small network of doctors.

Sarah read one case summary and stopped.

“This happened to other mothers.”

Marcus nodded.

“And fathers.”

Not every case was criminal.

But enough showed the same pattern.

Money.

Custody.

Medical authority.

Silence.

Eleanor wasn’t the creator of the entire system.

She was one powerful client.

That made the story bigger—and more dangerous.

Then agents found correspondence from Eleanor.

She referred to Sarah as:

Potential maternal obstruction.

Not daughter-in-law.

Not Leo’s mother.

Obstruction.

Sophie was:

Asset A.

Ethan:

Asset B.

Ava:

Asset C.

Leo:

Asset D.

Sarah stared at the words until they blurred.

“They didn’t even use their names.”

Daniel looked sick.

Natalie said quietly:

“That’s how Mother survives what she does. People become categories.”

Then one Westbridge executive agreed to cooperate.

Her name was Rebecca Sloan.

She admitted Eleanor demanded the IVF children remain legally disconnected until she finished restructuring the trust.

Rebecca asked:

“What happens when Sarah has a child naturally?”

Eleanor replied:

We control the narrative then.

Sarah asked Rebecca:

“What narrative?”

Rebecca looked ashamed.

“Eleanor intended to say the other children resulted from embryo donation Sarah had authorized years earlier.”

“But I didn’t.”

“She had your signature.”

Forged.

Again.

Then Rebecca produced video of Eleanor discussing Sarah.

“If she becomes inconvenient, Voss will establish postpartum instability.”

Daniel closed his eyes.

Sarah didn’t.

She watched every second.

Then Eleanor said:

“Daniel will choose Leo over her.”

Sarah felt nothing now.

Only clarity.

Eleanor understood her son perfectly.

She knew which fear would make him betray his wife.

Then Rebecca said there was one more secret.

Eleanor planned to move Sophie, Ethan, and Ava permanently overseas after the audit window closed.

False identities.

Private education.

No connection to Sarah.

Leo would join them later.

Sarah’s hands shook.

“My children would have disappeared.”

“Yes.”

Daniel whispered:

“And I helped make that possible.”

May you like

Nobody corrected him.

👉 Westbridge proved Eleanor’s scheme was not improvised—it was a long-term plan to erase every child from Sarah’s reach once their financial purpose was complete.
