Chapter 6 - The Iron Man's Decision

"Where do you think you are?" I scoffed coldly, sweeping my gaze across the federal agents leveling their weapons at me. "In this house, a single snap of my fingers ensures you won't see tomorrow's sunrise."
"Daddy!"
A tiny voice rang out.
I froze, turning my head. Lucia had stepped down from Elena's arms, standing straight on the marble floor, her tear-filled eyes locked directly on mine.
"Stop the bloodshed," Lucia said, her voice choked yet possessing a strange, undeniable authority—inherited directly from my own blood. "Mom wouldn't want this. I don't want to see you die either. But you have to pay for what you did to Mom."
My heart felt crushed in a vise. The gun inside my jacket suddenly weighed a million tons.
I looked at Arthur Vance, then at Elena, who was shielding the twins behind her. I understood that this time, the empire I had built with blood and money couldn't save me from the court of conscience and law. Above all, if I resisted, my three innocent daughters would suffer most.
I slowly withdrew my hand from my jacket, raising both palms to signal my security detail to stand down.
"Don't shoot," I ordered my men decisively.
My bodyguards stared in disbelief, but beneath my icy stare, they lowered their weapons to the floor one by one.
"I'll go with you," I looked straight at Arthur Vance. "But I have one condition. My children must remain in this estate under the absolute protection of Rosa and Elena. No one is permitted to take them anywhere until the trial begins."

Arthur nodded. "Agreement accepted, Dominic. You will have your day in court to face both the judge and Victor Thorne in Manhattan Supreme Court."
Cold steel cuffs snapped around my wrists. Before federal police led me out to the squad car waiting outside the gates, I glanced back one last time. Lucia stood quietly by the window, no longer crying. She looked at me with complex emotions—fading resentment yielding to an unbridgeable void.
